Private air defence brings large businesses into the protection of critical infrastructure and the countering of drones. Nova Pošta’s reported combat results show the practical potential of such projects, although the company has not released enough information to verify the scale of its successes. Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers adopted an experimental procedure in October 2025 allowing businesses to form private air-defence groups. Operators of critical infrastructure, including energy, communications, transport and water-supply facilities, can join. By June 2026, 30 companies had received official permission to establish their own air-defence groups, and some had reported downing dozens of enemy drones. Large European businesses are also seeking fire engines to create their own firefighting services.
